CA Garage Doors Ltd
Warranty Policy
Effective Date: August 11, 2026
At CA Garage Doors Ltd, we stand behind the quality of our workmanship and the products we install. This policy explains the warranties that apply to our garage door, opener, front door, and window services.
1. Manufacturer Warranties
Most new garage doors, openers, and components come with a manufacturer’s limited warranty. Coverage varies by brand and model.
We provide the manufacturer’s warranty details at the time of installation or sale and can assist with claims during the coverage period.
2. Specific Component Warranties
The following periods apply to parts we supply and install, subject to manufacturer terms where applicable:
| Component | Warranty Period | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Door Panels | 10 years (Limited Lifetime) | Manufacturer warranty. Limited to 10 years. |
| Hardware Parts | 3 years | Manufacturer / supplied hardware. |
| Springs | 3 years | If they break under normal use. |
| Cables – Breakage | 2 years | If the cable physically breaks under normal use. |
| Cables – Coming Loose | 1 month only | See special conditions in Section 4. |
| Windows / Glass | 1 week | See special conditions in Section 4. |
| Weather Stripping / Seals | No warranty | Normal wear item. |
| Colour / Paint Finish | No warranty on fading | Normal fading excluded. |
3. CA Garage Doors Workmanship / Labor Warranty
We provide a workmanship (labor) warranty on the installation work we perform:
New garage door installations: 3 years on workmanship (labor) for issues directly caused by our installation, unless otherwise stated on your invoice.
Garage door opener installations: 5 years on workmanship (labor) for issues directly caused by our installation, unless otherwise stated on your invoice.
Repairs and service work: 1 year on labor for the specific repair performed, or as stated on your invoice.
Coverage begins on the date the work is completed.
If a problem is caused by our workmanship within the applicable period, we will return and correct it at no charge for labor.
4. Special Conditions – Cables Coming Loose & Windows/Glass
Cables Coming Loose (Not Broken)
Cables that come loose, slip off the drum, pulley, or cable retention system, but do not physically break, are covered for 1 month only from the date of installation or service.
After 1 month, re-securing or re-stringing loose cables is considered a new service call and is chargeable.
Important: Cables frequently come loose because of an obstruction in the path of the door, for example items left on the garage floor, a vehicle partially in the doorway, tools, boxes, ice buildup, debris, or anything that forces the door to stop or bind.
These situations are not covered under warranty at any time, even within the first month.
Windows / Glass
Windows and glass have a 1-week warranty only.
Glass can break or crack from impact. The homeowner must carefully inspect the glass at installation and report any cracks, chips, or damage immediately, within the 1-week period.
Failure to report promptly may void coverage.
5. What Is Covered
Defects or failures caused by improper installation or workmanship by our technicians.
Parts we supply and install, when still under the periods listed above and caused by manufacturing defect or our workmanship.
